Hi,

My dream of the day

When the log is on the owner machine (and not on an other place), a very good thing would be to have a very little button in front of each unknow file to jump quickly to http://www.virustotal.com/en/indexf.html in order to scan the file with (actually) 32 Av tools one shot.

When asked for the upload, Virustotal start in the last download folder used so there is a key to use in order not to have to browse folders.

Hide the button if the file is > 10MO (VitusTotal will reject the request after the upload so don't spend the time for nothing)

And best, but unreal, catch the result in the log so that, if log is uploaded, you can update the DB. So cool Whistle

See you

Pierre (aka Terdef)

I asked joti virusscanner about this, but they think that it will overload their server too much

Did you ask VirusTotal? I mean they have an app that allows you to quickly upload files for scanning anyway... so this shouldn't be that different. The important thing to stress is that the user *chooses* to upload the file, not that it automatically uploads every unknown file!!

It's implemented in the next beta using the executable from virustotal, you can right click on a file and upload it to virustotal.
